Outcomes
Better understanding of Performance – SiET approach will give Defence a true understanding of its dismounted lethality performance.
Individual feedback – Individuals will be provided with a deeper understanding of marksmanship performance throughout the entire, including provision of innovative feedback during Live Fire Tactical Training – something which is not currently available.
Linking individual and collective training – The conventional training approach has been split between individual and collective training establishments and is predominantly assessed on a Pass or Fail or outcome basis. It has little capability to make holistic performance assessments. Infantry Companies (the lowest organizational level which can be classed as ‘combined’) currently have no means to measure how well they have integrated and delivered lethal effects as a ‘team of teams’. This understanding is particularly important as higher echelon live firing reduced frequency of without an effective means of quantifying or managing this risk. We believe SiET can begin to solve this problem.
Digitizing Skill at Arms – Finally, the majority of the performance data that is recorded (i.e. shooting record cards, training attendance, tactics courses), remains paper based and inconsistently recorded, this leads to data loss or missed, wider exploitation opportunities.
